Many people care for their face and neglect their hands, even though the back of the hand is among the most sun-exposed areas and one of the fastest to show age. As the subcutaneous fat layer is lost, veins and tendons become prominent and the skin thins and grows more translucent.
What filler does here
Filler is placed at the appropriate plane above the tendons and veins to restore the lost layer of volume, softening their prominence and making the surface of the hand look smoother. The aim is not to hide the veins entirely but to reduce the sharp contrast that makes a hand look older.
Injection technique
A cannula is generally used rather than a sharp needle, to reduce the risk of vessel injury and bruising and to distribute product over a wider area from a single entry point. Even distribution by massage after injection is an essential part of the result.
What should accompany the session
Filler addresses volume but not pigmentation or skin thinning. If sun spots are part of what bothers you, we will discuss complementary procedures and a sun-protection plan — sun exposure being the leading cause of hand ageing.
After the session
Swelling for a few days is expected and may be noticeable at first. Bruising is possible. Avoid heavy manual work and intense heat for the first 24 hours.

How long does hand filler last?
Usually 9 to 18 months. The hands are used constantly, but filler here sits in a less mobile plane than the lips, so durability is relatively good.
Will the veins disappear completely?
No, and that is not the aim. Filler softens their prominence and reduces contrast; hiding them entirely would look unnatural. We agree the degree with you before injecting.
Does it treat age spots on the hands?
No. Filler addresses volume only. Pigmentation needs different procedures, and we will discuss a complementary plan if that is part of your concern.
When can I use my hands normally?
Immediately, avoiding heavy exertion and intense heat for the first 24 hours. Swelling may be noticeable for the first two days and then eases.
